On Saturday February 2nd at Clinton Avenue Methodist Church:

• BIKE-FRIENDLY KINGSTON Kingston joins us once again to offer basic bicycle repairs & tune-ups (please arrive with your bike no later than 2:00pm to provide enough time).

• David Bruner will be sharpening blades (one or two per person).

• Vince Murray and his welding truck will be parked outside. If you have metal to be worked on, bring it! (weather permitting—no welding indoors)

• Do you have questions about what kind of items you can bring for repair? Or would you like to offer your skills to repair things for your neighbors?

Get your bike ready for spring with a free basic tune up/repair for first come, first served. We are not able to do major repairs but our mechanics may be able to tell you what needs to be done and how to go about it. Donations and volunteers are always welcomed. WD-40, shop rags, and bike cables are the most needed donations. Volunteers do not need to have any bike skills for help with signing people in. Safety materials will be available. On Saturday, September 30th, 11am – 2pm, at the Clinton Ave Methodist church, 122 Clinton Avenue, Bike friendly Kingston and the Repair Café of the Hudson valley with the gracious support of SUNY Ulster Health and Safety Institute, Live Well Kingston, YMCA Ulster, The Clinton Avenue Methodist church, and other community volunteers, will be offering a free community bike repair clinic. First come - first served. Join our capable volunteers to repair and tune up bicycles. Come in, sit down, watch the repairs, and maybe learn how to fix a flat tire, clean your gears, or hem your favorite bike pants. We will also provide bike helmet fittings and lots of bike friendly information about the exciting trails projects and bike programs coming to Kingston.

Join us for an afternoon of bikes! BBQ will be provided by the Kingston Elks Lodge #550. Enter to win a kids bike! There will be a bicycle safety skill clinic and helmit fittings along with tons of safety brochures and activities. Free basic bike repair will be provided, first come–first served, for all kinds of bikes.

It’s about helping each other out and keeping stuff out of landfills and encouraging safe riding! And it’s just plain fun.

Over 60 bikes have been repaired at four previous free bike repair events that Bike-Friendly Kingston has hosted serving a wide variety of riders. For many riders their bicycle is their only form of reliable transportation. By providing free bike repair, we are supporting our mission of making bicycling safer in the City of Kingston.
