Got a bell on your bike? Riding without one could mean a traffic ticket! New York State law requires a bell, horn or other audible device on a bicycle. And if you ride after dark, you need a set of front and rear lights.

The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County and Bike Friendly Kingston will be distributing bells and lights at a bicycle repair clinic on Tuesday, October 20th. Come to the Y parking lot on Pine Grove Avenue in Kingston between 3 and 6pm to get a bell or lights, or to have your bike checked over. Bike helmets will also be available. No advance registration required. The event is free, but donations are welcome! Be sure to wear a mask or other face covering when you come! In case of bad weather, the rain date is Wednesday, October 21 st .
